Introduction
The World Health Organisation Quality Of Life – BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) is a 26-item self-reported measure which was developed to evaluate the individual’s perceptions in the context of their culture and value systems, and their personal goals, standards and concerns. The WHOQOL-BREF measures the following domains: physical health, psychological health, social relationships, and environment. A higher score indicates a higher quality of life while a lower score indicates a lower quality of life.
The WHOQOL-BREF is one of the best-known instruments that has been developed for cross-cultural comparisons of quality of life and is available in more than 40 languages.
